About The Foundation

The Darien District 61 Educational Foundation was officially incorporated in May 2009 as a charitable, not-for-profit organization in the State of Illinois. It holds federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status making donations to the foundation tax-deductible.

Our mission is to provide supplemental funding—through community fundraisers and from grant-making organizations—to support programs and initiatives that will enhance the quality of education for students in District 61.  The district comprises Mark DeLay School (Grades K-2), Lace School (Grades 3-5) and Eisenhower Junior High School (Grades 6-8). About 1,700 students attend from sections of Darien, Downers Grove, Westmont and Willowbrook.  Learn more about District 61.
